Working at the Garment District
By Candace Rosado
The Garment District is a staple in Central Cambridge thrifting. No Goodwill, no Salvation Army, no Savers, can compare to the vast array of eclectic clothes, shoes, accessories, and costumes that The Garment District has to offer. And not only does this store offer a wide selection of finds to the people that walk in, but The Garment District also is a large contributor to the arts of scene of Central Cambridge.
For years, people all over the Cambridge and even Boston area have made The Garment District their go-to place for all of their quirky-find needs. After seeing how much the store has to offer just from walking inside of it, I thought it best to ask some of the employees some questions as to how the Garment District has contributed to the art scene of Central Cambridge and how it has impacted themselves personally. For this piece, I got a chance to listen to Meghan, a current employee at the Garment District, and see what she had to say on how this establishment has affected the arts community of Central Cambridge.
